Endoscopic Transoral Outlet Reduction (ETOR) is a revision procedure for patients who have undergone gastric bypass surgery and are experiencing weight regain. Over time, the opening (stoma) between the stomach pouch and small intestine can stretch, leading to a decrease in satiety and increased food intake.
ETOR is a non-surgical solution to this problem. Using an endoscope, our team places sutures around the stoma to reduce its size and restore the feeling of fullness. This can help patients lose weight again and get back on track with their health goals.
Because ETOR is performed entirely through the mouth, there are no incisions, and the recovery period is much shorter than traditional surgical revision. It is typically done as an outpatient procedure with minimal discomfort.
Southwest Gastroenterology provides thorough evaluations for patients considering ETOR. We work closely with you to assess your current anatomy, medical history, and goals to determine the best path forward.
If you’ve had a gastric bypass and are struggling with weight regain, ETOR may be the effective, minimally invasive solution you’ve been looking for.
